Dr. Md. Mahatab
Uddin

Founding Director

Md. Mahatab Uddin, Ph.D. in Law (Aarhus), LL.M (Intellectual Property Law) (Stockholm), MSc. (Sustainable Development) (Uppsala) is an expert on Intellectual Property Law, Technology Law, and Public International Laws on Climate Change and Sustainable Development.

 

Dr. Uddin’s advanced-level scholarly contributions have been published as articles, books, and book chapters by various leading journals and publishers of the world such as Yale Journal of International Law Online, University of San Francisco Intellectual Property and Technology Law Journal, George Washington International Law Review, Pace Journal of International Law, San Diego International law Journal, AI & Society (Springer), Marine Pollution Bulletin (Elsevier), Routledge (UK), Springer Nature (Germany), and Edward Elgar (UK), etc.  He taught at diverse universities in Asia, Europe, and North America. Khalekuzzaman

Director

M M Khalekuzzaman, Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh practices at the Apex Court of the country.  He did his graduation of law (LL. B) from the University of Chittagong and LL.M from the same law school. Started his career as a Programme Organiser at the Ain O Salish Kendra (a well-recognized NGO of Bangladesh which had the consultative status of ECOSOC of the United Nations).

He was responsible for bridging the gender gap and analyzing the gender policy there. Right after that, he joined Grameenphone as Acquisition Soliciting Officer, where he used to set the corporate strategy of the company.  For the last fourteen years, he has been working as a courtroom lawyer of the constitutional Apex Court of the country. Where he deals with civil, criminal, and constitutional issues. His academic zeal kept him engaged in research work, and his articles, commentaries, and opinions were frequently published in the national dailies and international think tank platforms. He does policy advocacy too.

Dr. Muhammed Atiqur Rahman

Director

Muhammed Atiqur Rahman, Ph.D. in Law (Macquire), LL.M (Intellectual Property Law) (Lund) is a highly accomplished and respected university teacher with specialized expertise in intellectual property law. He delved deep into the nuances of intellectual property law, understanding the intricacies of the subject. Driven by a passion for fostering creativity and protecting innovation, he devoted himself to unraveling the complex legal frameworks governing intellectual property rights. Dr. Atiq is also actively involved in research, publication, and community services. His unwavering commitment to intellectual property law and his impact on legal education have earned him numerous scholarships throughout his career. He firmly believes that the proper understanding and protection of intellectual property rights are fundamental to fostering innovation, driving economic growth, and promoting social progress.

Fahad Bin Siddique

Research & Comminucation Associate

Fahad Bin Siddique pursued LL.M at the UNESCO Madanjeet Singh South Asian Institute of Advanced Legal and Human Rights Studies (UMSAILS) (jointly organised with the University of Asia Pacific), where he received a SAF Madanjeet Singh Scholarship sponsored by the South Asia Foundation (an apex body of the SAARC). He has an MBA in Human Resource Management completed from North South University. Before that, he completed his LL.M in International Law at East West University.

Mr. Siddique completed a Research Fellowship at the Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST) and conducted a research study funded by the Rule of Law Collaborative, University of South Carolina. In addition to his keen interest in Intellectual Property Law, Mr. Siddique’s areas of interest include Public International Law, Human Rights Law, International Commercial Arbitration, Humanitarian Law, and Refugee Law etc. He has published several papers in journals and occasionally contributes to national newspapers and magazines. He also worked as a research assistant for eminent academics and researchers. He was a member of a team that advised on cases pending before the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, several corporate legal disputes, and academic research projects.

Rushmila Jahan Rasha

Research Associate

Rushmila Jahan Rasha completed her LL.B (honours) from East West University, Dhaka, Bangladesh, with significant academic performance. Now, she is doing her LL.M. in International Commercial Law at North South University. Her areas of interest include Public International Law, Intellectual Property Law, Criminal Law, and Constitutional Law, among others.
